It seems like ISIS has finally slipped up in Kobane. Before Kobane, ISIS had been able to conquer cities without much resistance because the local fighters were afraid of being captured and totured or executed. In Kobane, the fighters had nowhere to escape to, so they stayed and fought. The Kurdish fighters are furiously retaliating, which is resulting in battles being fought out in the open. This does not bode well for the ISIS militants, since their positions make them easy targets for the US and Arab airstrikes.
