The number of people traveling to Switzerland to commit assisted suicide dropped from 123 to 86 in 2009, but has doubled since. These people all have some sort of terminal condition or illness and they believe that they will not live much longer. Doctors in Switzerland are mostly dosing these suicide tourists with a fatal amount of a drug. Because the rules on assisted suicide in Switzerland are unclear, it is a popular destination to go to for dying. A survey showed that in 12 European countries, the majority of the people wanted assisted suicide to become legalized.
